Terms of Service
Last updated June 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using Traffic Defence Kits or purchasing a kit.
1. About these terms
Traffic Defence Kits (“we,” “us,” or the “Site”) is operated by Rico Tatangelo. By creating an account, purchasing a kit, downloading a template, or otherwise using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. What our kits are — information and education only
Our kits are self-help educational materials: plain-language guides, explanations, checklists, document templates, and a document generator dealing with Ontario traffic and provincial offence matters. They are provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
3. Not legal advice
Nothing on this Site is legal advice. The kits are not a substitute for advice from a lawyer or licensed paralegal about your specific situation. The law changes, and how it applies depends on the facts of your individual case. We do not review your matter, and we cannot tell you what you should do.
4. No professional relationship
Buying a kit, creating an account, or using any material on this Site does not create a lawyer–client, paralegal–client, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and Traffic Defence Kits or Rico Tatangelo. We do not represent you, do not act as your agent or representative, and will not appear or file anything on your behalf.
5. Representation is the better option
For most people facing a charge, the best option is to be represented by a licensed lawyer or paralegal. We strongly encourage you to consult or retain a licensed Ontario legal professional — especially for serious charges, where your licence, insurance, or livelihood is at stake. The Law Society of Ontario maintains a public directory of licensees and a referral service.
6. No guarantee of any outcome
We make no promise or guarantee about the result of any charge, ticket, hearing, or trial. Using a kit will not necessarily result in a charge being reduced, withdrawn, or dismissed. You are solely responsible for your own decisions, filings, deadlines, and court appearances.
7. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for confirming the current law, court procedures, forms, and deadlines that apply to your matter.
- You must review and adapt any generated document to your own circumstances before you rely on, file, or serve it.
- You are responsible for meeting all court and prosecution deadlines.
8. Licence and acceptable use
When you purchase or claim a kit, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use its materials for your own personal use. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, republish, or share kit content, templates, or your account with others. The Site and its content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
9. Accounts
Kit content is available only to registered, logged-in users who have purchased or claimed the relevant kit. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
10. Payments, access, and refunds
Paid kits are sold for a one-time fee (plus applicable taxes) and provide access for as long as we offer the kit. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider; we do not store your full card details. Because kits are digital products delivered immediately, all sales are final and non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Traffic Defence Kits and Rico Tatangelo are not liable for any loss or damage — including any fine, conviction, penalty, demerit points, insurance consequence, or other outcome — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or any kit. The Site and all materials are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the Site.
12. Privacy
We collect only the information needed to operate the Site (such as your email and the details you enter into a document generator). We do not sell your personal information. Information you type into a document generator is used to produce your document.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable there.
